D. H. Kelly (Dot Hutchinson Kelly) is the author of two books for young people ages 8-14, Pencils Down and H20.

Both books are fun summer adventures with family and community involvement.
Fun activities include Scouts and church service projects and swim team participation.
D.H. Kelly is a South Carolinian who attended public schools, graduated from Rock Hill High School, and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, Master of Arts Degree in Teaching, Education Specialist in Administration Degree with certification as an Elementary School Librarian from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Since the publication of her first book Pencils Down in 2001, Kelly has been invited to speak on writing to students in many elementary and middle schools and has done book reviews for book clubs and sororities. In addition, she has had book signing in schools, civic functions and retail stores – all of which have provided valuable contacts and publicity.

Her target audience is young people, ages 8 -14, depending on reading and interest levels and those who purchase them.
The books offer strong family and community involvement, diversity of families, learning skills, and the element of rehabilitation.
D.H. Kelly lives in Rock Hill, South Carolina with her husband.
In addition to writing poetry, with many poems published, D.H. enjoys tennis, and volunteers in elementary schools.
